Have you ever wondered how smart you really are? The internet is filled with different IQ tests and similar types of quizzes claiming to give you an answer. However, there is no one-size-fits-all answer to the question of intelligence. Interestingly enough though, your body can help to give you some insight into your intelligence. Each and every part of your body has something unique to say about how smart you are. This article will explore everything from your head to your toes and see what each part could be telling you about your intelligence!
Your Brain
Your brain is probably the part of your body most closely associated with intelligence. After all, it is responsible for everything from thought processes to memory recall. So what can your brain tell you about your intelligence? Well, for starters, larger brains tend to be smarter brains. Studies have shown that people with larger brains score higher on IQ tests than those with smaller brains. This may be because a larger brain allows for more neurons (brain cells), which in turn can lead to more connections and better cognitive function.
In addition, the shape of your brain may also offer some insight into your intelligence. One study found that people who have a higher degree of “frontal lobe gyrification” (the folding of the cortex in the frontal lobe) tend to score higher on IQ tests. This is because the more folded your cortex is, the more surface area there is for neurons to make connections.
Your Chest
Believe it or not, your chest can also give you some clues about how smart you are. In general, people with a larger chest circumference tend to have a higher IQ than those with a smaller chest circumference. This is because the size of your chest is directly linked to the size of your lungs. And, as it turns out, people with larger lungs tend to have higher IQs. Largely due to the fact that they have more oxygen going to their brains!
Your chest also houses your heart, which is another important indicator of intelligence. Studies have shown that people with a higher heart rate tend to be more intelligent than those with a lower heart rate. A higher heart rate indicates better blood circulation, which means more oxygen and nutrients are being delivered to the brain.
Your Hands
Did you know that the size of your hands can also say something about your intelligence? In general, people with longer index fingers and shorter ring fingers tend to be more intelligent than those with opposite finger lengths. This is because the length of your index finger is directly linked to the amount of testosterone you are exposed to in the womb. And, as it turns out, people with more exposure to testosterone tend to be smarter than those with less exposure.
Your ring finger, on the other hand, is indicative of your estrogen levels. Which has been shown in some studies that people with higher estrogen levels tend to be more intuitive and creative than those with lower estrogen levels. So take a look at your hands and see how your index and ring fingers compare!
